Alycia Chubaty
Alycia is a Master’s student co-supervised by Dr. Docker and Dr. Kevin Hedges at Fisheries and Oceans Canada. Her project uses Baited Remote Underwater Video (BRUV) to study Greenland Sharks in Cumberland Sound, Nunavut. She is using BRUV footage collected over three field seasons to estimate local Greenland Shark abundance and to describe differences in Greenland Shark behaviour across life stages and spatial variation. She has received awards from Polar Knowledge Canada’s Northern Scientific Training Program and the Faculty of Graduate Studies.
