David Boguski
Dave has always been fascinated with the natural world, and his passion for the outdoors, exploration, and discovery has led to a successful and rewarding career in Canadian Arctic fisheries science and management. His research interests align with molecular biology and evolution, as well as conservation genomics.
Dave was Dr. Docker’s first graduate student at the University of Manitoba where he received a BSc (Honours) and MSc in Biological Sciences. He was a proud recipient of the Major G.E.H Barrett-Hamilton Memorial Scholarship during his Masters. He has had diverse experiences in science working in consulting, academia, and government. He is currently a Regional Senior Fisheries Management Officer for Fisheries and Oceans Canada (DFO) based in Winnipeg, where he takes an integrated approach to developing and implementing plans and programs to sustainably manage Canada’s Arctic fisheries.
